Behold! The Bubba bear in all his glasses glory! Chris took him to pick them up on Saturday. He hasn't really been himself since he got the glasses but I think it's a few factors. One, he's probably seeing the world in an entirely new light. Things he wasn't able to see before, he is now seeing and it's probably a huge shock. Two, it's probably a bit of nerves. With all the changes coming up-glasses, school, leaving his comfort zone of his friends at daycare...I think it's a big adjustment for him. He said they are kind of hurting him behind his ears so in the next week or so, if he doesn't get used to it and it's truly rubbing...we're going to have to take them back to the doctor for an adjustment. But he's handling things well and is being my strong boy that he's always been.
Friday night, I steam cleaned my carpets...wow! What a difference. I was shocked. There had been these spots that showed up shortly after we moved in and were just getting worse. The steam cleaner lifted them right out! It took me about an hour and a half cause I'm a perfectionist once I get started. Chris went to the Blue Crabs game with his best friend James and the boys were upstairs (Jackson sleeping, Peyton watching a movie in my room) so I had the entire downstairs to myself. What a huge difference!
Saturday, we threw a "surprise" birthday party for Amanda. Well, it was supposed to be a surprise but she is pretty stuck in her ways and refused to stay away from the house while we got ready so she caught us in the act! It was still a surprise for her though and the more people that showed up, the more pleasant the surprise for her! We had a great time and I hope she enjoyed herself. It's been a rough few months for her and I hope she knows how much she is loved...because she truly is. After 20 years of friendship (wow!) it makes me happy to still be able to be there for her during the rough times. I really enjoyed having Amanda's nieces and nephews and the boys together. Laila was born 2 months after Peyton and they are both starting kindergarten in a couple of weeks. Jay and Tami (Amanda's brother and sister and law) have a middle child named Caden who will be 4 soon so he pals right along with Peyton and Laila. Then we were pregnant again together (after I left her to do the 2nd one on her own!) and Jackson and Chloe are 3 months apart. It's great having someone so close who has kids the same age as my own.

Jackson with ANOTHER girlfriend, Chloe. He's quite the ladies man with Amanda, Lexi and Chloe all fighting for his affections. Side note: How cute is he sharing his cup with her?!?!?
Sunday was a lazy day around the house...that rain was crazy but much needed! Mom, Dad and April came by in the morning for a little while to see Bubba's glasses. After they left, I was in a baking mood! I made my world famous chocolate chip cookies from scratch with a lot of help from Peyton. He manned the Kitchenaid and poured all the ingredients in before turning it on. It was also a great opportunity to teach him measurements and taking directions. He loved helping and his father told me last night "One day, a woman is going to be very happy you taught him how to make these awesome cookies". I did laundry and spent time with the boys. For dinner we had surf and turf...steaks on the grill and crab legs (for me) and shrimp (for Chris).
But now it's Monday again and the boss is back from vacation (booooo!) Have a great week!
