5 Years ago today, I married the love of my life. Chris is my very best friend, closest companion, partner in crime and love of my life. Before I met him, I was lost. I had zero direction in my life and no prospects of ever having any. Through his love and encouragement, I was able to become the woman I am today. He makes me comfortable in my own skin which, until I met him, I never was. Being in love with him made me actually love myself because I learned who I really was. I'm very proud of us for sticking it out for 5 years. In these times, we know so many people who have been divorced or separated at our age. The fact that we've been together for 8 years (in December) and have never even come close to breaking up is a testament for our love...or our stubborness...or a combination of both.
I never knew it was possible to be completely in love with a person until I met Chris. For some reason, he continues to put up with me...and Lord knows I am not the easiest person to love. He's never failed me and his love always comes out on top. No matter what, we're in this together for the long haul.
Chris (The Duke): Thank you. Thank you for giving me two amazing boys. Thank you for making me your family and becoming my own. It's me and you against the world baby, and we'll always win because we never give up. No matter how hard times can get, our love always seems to get us through. You're my very best friend and I thank God every single day that he gave you to me. I'll never give up on you and you know "I'll Stand by You"...no matter what curve-balls life throws at us. No matter how hard times get, we always make it through. Thank you and I adore you.
