What a great weekend! First, Happy (belated) Mother's Day to all the Moms out there. We have the toughest job in the world but no job reaps more benefits. Our kids may drive us crazy but only our babies can love us so unconditionally and fiercely. I have been blessed beyond words with two angels from heaven who have enriched my life so deeply and filled my heart with so much love I can't even explain. I know how to love because God gave me such amazing little creatures to raise and nurture.
This weekend was busy but so filled with love and fun! Friday was my Dad's birthday so we headed over to the parent's house for a pizza and cake party! We had SUCH a good time, all of us just sitting around and enjoying each other's company. Even though we stayed later than the boys are used to, they were so well behaved and enjoyed themselves!
On Saturday, we had another Lugnuts game in the morning and the team didn't disappoint! It's so much fun watching Peyton in his element. He's a major league star!
On Saturday afternoon, I got to do a day of pampering! I went and got my "hair did" at Signature Salon and Day Spa in Bel Alton, MD. I usually go to the Galleria but this place was amazing and I'm definitely thinking about using them more often! The girl who did my hair was named Lori Marseglia, I definitely recommend her! I have A LOT of hair but she really handled it very well. The color and cut look amazing and I feel so much better and refreshed! After I left there, I went and got a relaxing pedicure, which I've been slacking on for months. I felt like a new woman after my day of pampering! When I got home, I was greeted with GORGEOUS flowers that were delivered while I was gone!
I was a very spoiled Mommy this weekend. Yesterday morning (Mother's Day), I was allowed by the boys to sleep in and when I woke up-I got more presents! Chris got my Jorge Garcia autographed picture (!!!) framed for me and it looks amazing! I don't have a picture of the frame hanging on my wall yet but I do have the picture for your viewing pleasure! The boys took me to lunch at Capt. Johns in Cobb Island and we had a great lunch! I got oysters since the crabs were very expensive and the waitress told us they weren't worth it (I SO appreciate honesty in a server!) I figure in a few weeks I'll get my first crabs of the year when they are more worth it. The best things in life are worth a wait. Then we stopped by Mom and Dad's house and visited for a while with my WONDERFUL MOTHER!
We had a great weekend, and I feel super spoiled after it. Chris starts his new job today so please everyone pray for a good fit for him. He has been with his old company for five years and this change might be a culture shock for him...but please pray that he has a smooth transition and he is happy with his decision for a change!
I'm going to close with a quote from my mother icon...Yes, I realize she's not a typical icon but this woman cracks me up and takes a hilarious view of motherhoods ups and downs and I hope I can make it through my years as a Mom with even an ounce of her humor.
“I figure that if the children are alive when I get home, I've done my job.” ~Roseanne
