This and That...

It's been a while since I've updated on the boy's latest and greatest tricks! Since I started with Peyton in life, I figured I'd start with Peyton on the blog :)
For some reason, this picture cracks me up. Peyton will be six in just a month and I can't believe how much he changes daily. He's always been my fashion conscious kid but lately it's taken on a life of it's own. Everything must match, everything must be "boy". And by that, I mean, last week when I couldn't find socks for him on a particularly hectic morning, I let him borrow a pair of my new socks. They fit him fine and he was only going to daycare (school was out for winter break), so no problem, right? Wrong. Turns out, Peyton didn't take his shoes off ALL day because his mother committed the ultimate crime of putting him in "girl" socks. I don't get it but whatever. When we're all lounging around in our comfy-wear, Peyton shows up in a button down shirt and pants. I have a feeling the teenage years will prove very expensive for us.

He's learning to ride his bike, Daddy said the training wheels can't come off for a while because we have quite the speed demon on our hands. I think he about gave his father a heart attack by making him chase behind him the other day all through the neighborhood!!! Daddy took a few videos but he hasn't uploaded them yet (HINT HINT CHRIS!!)

He's learning his sight words like a champ. Last night, we worked on the flash cards I made for him and he got every single one correct on the first try! I was soo proud! I'm going to add six more words to the mix tonight but with the progress he's made so far, I know he'll get them in just a matter of time. He's so smart! Peyton is always my love bug. He still loves to cuddle, give kisses when you most need them and just all around be a pal. I'm beyond blessed to have this little angel in my world.

Now it's on to Robbie Rotten. Shew. This kid is a handful and a delight all rolled in to one. He amazes me every single day with the words he learns and the things he knows. He can count to 10 now, speaking sentences (his favorite is "I don't know" when you ask him why he did something), he's very technical and can figure out how things work faster than I can most times. It's hard for me to believe that he's not even two yet because of how much older he looks and acts. People who see him/are around him are shocked that he's not even two yet. He'll cross that milestone on March 4th. By this time next year, he'll probably have found the cure for cancer or something at the rate he's going!

But boy oh boy...this kid is a mess! He's in to EVERYTHING, he's curious about EVERYTHING and EVERYTHING has the ability to make him mad. He's definitely my boy all the way.

Jackson's play kitchen keeps him amused though. Well, really the play food keeps him busy. Last night, I found him "chowing down" on a fake chicken leg, peas and a banana. Every time you look at him, a piece from that set is in his hands. The stainless steel pots and pans Mom got him are LOUD but he loves them. While Jackson might be a mess and a half, he's my mess and a half and my life would be far less complete without him.
