Well, 2010 is coming to a close tomorrow night and I figured now was a good time to look back and reflect on the year that was.
For the boy's birthdays this year, we were snowed in BOTH days. Weird. Peyton's 5th birthday was the major snowstorm that had us confined to the house for days. Daddy and I made the most of it, when they predicted a major storm I went to the store and got all the decorations I could find. After he went to bed on February 9th, we got to work decorating every inch of the kitchen/dining room so when we brought him downstairs the next morning, it was a birthday wonderland. We had a great day doing whatever he wanted to do! The following weekend, we took the boys bowling and to eat and also to get their pictures taken. Jax's birthday was another snow but nothing nearly as fierce as what we went through the previous 3 months. He got all kinds of fun toys and enjoyed turning 1!
At the end of March, I lost a big part of my life when my dear friend's mother passed away suddenly on March 29th. It's still hard to wrap my head around the fact that she's been gone for 9 months, but I'm more at peace with the idea knowing that she is in heaven waiting for us.
We moved in our new house in April of this year. It was so great to be out of Upper Marlboro and back home in La Plata. It's only a 10 minute drive to my parents and takes less than a minute to even get to the grocery store! Love the convenience!
Chris turned the big 3-0 this year (see July 12th post where I say all kinds of awful things about how old he is...snicker). I got him (by extension me also) tickets to the HFStival where Billy Idol would be! We are some Billy Idol fiends in the Romine house!
In August, we celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary. I'm still in awe that I found a man so completely perfect for me who loves me, flaws and all. He's my very best friend and the love of my life...the boys and I are completely blessed that we have him in our corner.
I turned 27 (oy) this year in November, it's officially been 10 years since I graduated high school (oy again) but looking back, I'm so very pleased at how far my life has come. I attribute this mainly to Chris and the boys. They encourage me every step of the way and have always cheered me on. I've grown up so much since high school, and the person I once was is now just seen as a starting point.
I'm sure I'm missing zillions of things. I could go on for days about my excitement for things to come. My best bosom friend in the world is due to have her third boy on January 10th and I'm busting with antici....pation. Lots of friends have had wonderful new additions this year and I'm sure there will be more to come in 2011. My sister turned 21 (oy again), my brother will be 30 in 2011 (wow, we've gotten old) and so many more things. I'm excited for another amazing year with my boys.
Hope everyone has a Happy New Year. No drinking and driving, no doing anything I would do, don't get crazy...just remember where you are at midnight January 31st, sets the tone of how the rest of the year will go. Be with the ones you love and most want to be with. Love you all!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
