I feel like I'm falling for fall...

Well, not really...I kind of hate the fall but it's a song on Noggin (Nick Jr. for you newbie parents who don't remember the good ole days) that seems to get stuck in my head constantly. It's been a week or two since I checked in so I figured I'd use this chilly Friday evening to cozy up and check in. The firefighters came to Peyton's school today, he told me that he went in the ambulance and the fire truck and learned all about safety. In his "poetry journal", which comes home every Friday with a new poem he has learned at school, there was a poem about not playing with matches...always a good lesson but I'm not sure Emily Dickinson would be giving it any props. The boys are rolling around on the floor right now, full of energy! Jackson is adjusting very nicely to daycare without his big brother and Peyton doesn't get upset anymore that baby brother can't go to school with him. One day, they'll be in school together and I know Peyton will do an amazing job watching out for the little peanut.
I ordered the boy's Halloween costumes today and I can't tell you how proud of myself I am!!! I'm usually SUCH a procrastinator when it comes to Halloween costumes. We were never a big Halloween family at my house and I just don't get excited about it like other people do...I guess it goes along with the not liking fall very much thing. Either way, with the boys getting older and Peyton actually telling me this year what he wanted to be-I figured now was the time to strike. Peyton has been begging for weeks to be a Cowboy and Jackson is our monkey so he's going to be the most adorable monkey on earth. Chris found a catalog at his office for a company and I went on their website and ordered right away before it slipped my mind again. So we're all ready for fall around here. I even got a couple of fall decorations for the house..Look out! In fact, while I'm writing this, I look over and just saw the oddest thing from my eccentric 5 year old. Peyton was just bowing on his knees with his hands folded (prayer style) in front of the new scare crow decoration saying "Your majesty scare crow, Hail your majesty". Hey, I never said it was normal around here by a long shot.
Jackson got new clothes this week..poor thing has been getting hand-me-downs for so long from his big brother I figured it was time to revamp his wardrobe. He's set on all things fall and winter!
Other than that, things are quiet around here. Tomorrow is my very best friend, Ashleigh's, birthday. It's amazing to me how many birthdays our friendship has survived. She is truly my soul mate and the best friend I could ever ask for. Ashleigh, Thank you for being the person I know I can turn to no matter what. You know all my secrets and have never judged me for a single one. I can tell you everything and I love you so very much. We're closer than even sisters and I know that God put us together for a reason. Our friendship works and fits and it's one of the top blessings in my life, I'll never take that for granted. You are my family and I love you always.
Happy Fall everyone, I know I have a lot of readers that are fall lovers. I'm trying to get in to the spirit but don't be surprised if you hear some "it's too cold" grumblings from this end...just ignore me and remind me to think positive....it's the only way to think!
Love you all :)

I am so happy that you and Ashleigh have such a beautiful friendship. I have only ever heard you say wonderful things about her and I know you'll be best friends forever. Happy birthday Ash!
