Graduation, Macho Man and More

Shew, it's been a while since I've updated but I've been having computer issues that finally (fingers crossed!!!) have been resolved so I'm ready to dive in! BEWARE: Marathon post below...read at your own risk.

Peyton's final Lugnuts game was June 8th. I must say, he impressed me beyond words this year. His progress from the beginning of the year to now is leaps and bounds and I'm so very proud of my angel. He loved being a team player and handled everything that was thrown at him (pun intended) with a positive, happy attitude. He just loved being apart of a game! He wants to move up to machine pitch next year but we'll see if he and Daddy practice hard to prepare. Swimming lessons start June 27th for two weeks and in the next few weeks after that, he starts football practice. I'm nervous as heck about my baby playing a contact sport but he's all about it so I'm going to keep my mouth shut, cross my fingers and pray God protects him...and my sanity!

Jackson is quite the little entertainer. His very favorite song to belt out (at the top of his lungs) is Macho Man by the Village People. From the time we leave daycare in the afternoons until we get to the bus stop to get Peyton, he makes me play that song at least 5 times...no joke. "Mooooom, I want Macho Man!" While I have always dug the Village People...even I'm getting a little tired of it. He's also a fan of "Shake Senora" by Harry Belafonte, "The Funeral" by Band of Horses, "Bad to the Bone" by George Thorogood, "Hallelujah" by Rufus Wainwright and "Brand New Key" by Melanie. He's got quite the eclectic music taste and is a heck of a good singer!

Now on to Graduation.

Above is the moment where the floodgates opened for me. Thank God for my signature huge sunglasses...no one saw me being such a weepy mess, except maybe my sister who kept giving me the side eye.

See ya later, Alligator

Peyton graduated the Kindergarten on Tuesday of this week. I was so beyond proud to see my baby march up to his teacher to get his certificate while Daddy, Mommy, Grandma and Aunt April all cheered him on! He's come SOO far this year. He's reading now, can count to 100 (don't ask him to do it unless you have some time to sit there and listen), and plays so well with the other kids. Peyton is most certainly my Angel. He's the kindest, most considerate little person I've ever met. He makes sure to include all other kids in what he is doing and is so patient with his little brother, it amazes me. I think everyone should have a big brother like Peyton and I hope one day Jackson realizes what what a blessing it truly is.

April and Chris probably trying to figure out how many "test" pictures of them I'm going to take

Bubba's Big Moment!

This doesn't do his performance justice but he clams up whenever the camera is on...one day I WILL be submitting him to Funniest Videos for a prize

This shows how easily he gets irritated with our nonsense.

In one other piece of news, I would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to my baby sister, April. For the past month and a half since Chris started his new job, she has been waking up WAAAAAY earlier than she would normally agree to to come to our house and make sure Peyton gets safely on the bus. Monday is her last day of reporting to "work" and I'm so very grateful that I have her. I don't know what we would have done without April there, giving us the peace of mind that our son was safe. If someone had told me 10 years ago that my sister would be my best friend and someone I relied so heavily on, I'd think they were crazy. But she's an amazing, selfless person. There should be more "Aprils" in this world...it would be a shinier, happier place. Thank you April from the bottom of my heart. I love you very very much.
